Job Purpose
The Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for supporting the overall management of the retail branch. This includes ensuring smooth daily operations, improving customer satisfaction, and contributing to sales growth.
The role also involves supervising staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining high operational and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations Management
- Oversee daily branch operations and ensure smooth workflow
- Schedule daily activities and allocate tasks to staff
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures
- Maintain proper stock control, pricing, and product display standards
- Support cash, billing, and stock movement processes
Sales & Performance Growth
- Support the branch in achieving sales targets and revenue goals
- Identify opportunities to increase sales within the store
- Assist in promotions, product positioning, and upselling initiatives
- Monitor performance metrics and contribute to sales strategy execution
Customer Service & Experience
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction within the branch
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly
- Support the sales team in closing customer transactions
- Maintain strong customer relationships and service standards
Team Supervision & Support
- Supervise supervisors, sales team, and general staff
- Provide guidance, training, and support to staff
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
- Promote teamwork and a positive working environment
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare operational and performance reports for management
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock takes
- Ensure proper documentation of stock movements, credit notes, and delivery processes
- Support transport coordination for timely deliveries
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Public Relations, Customer Service, or a related business field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail sales, customer service, or branch supervisory/management roles
- Strong background in retail operations or FMCG/electronics industry is an added advantage
- Good understanding of sales, customer service, and stock management systems
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
