Software Engineer I (Full Stack Developer) – Remote India

H1 is hiring a Software Engineer I (Full Stack Developer) to join its Product Engineering team in India. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on healthcare technology solutions that leverage data, artificial intelligence, and scalable software systems to improve healthcare outcomes worldwide.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer I, you will work alongside experienced engineers to build and maintain full-stack systems that power H1’s healthcare data platform. You will contribute to production-ready software across frontend and backend systems while gaining exposure to modern cloud infrastructure, event-driven architectures, and AI-powered technologies.

This role is ideal for engineers with 2–3 years of experience who want to expand their technical expertise while working on meaningful healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack features using React, TypeScript, and NestJS.
  • Build and maintain GraphQL APIs and RESTful services.
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code across frontend and backend systems.
  • Design and optimize SQL queries using PostgreSQL.
  • Contribute to Kafka-based event-driven data pipelines.
  • Deploy and maintain services within Kubernetes environments.
  • Support AWS-based workflows and cloud infrastructure.
  • Assist with Python and PySpark-based data processing tasks.
  • Contribute to Elasticsearch-powered search functionality.
  • Improve frontend performance through optimization techniques.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to deliver new features.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer working on production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Experience with React development.
  • Experience building backend applications using Node.js and NestJS.
  • Understanding of GraphQL fundamentals.
  • Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as S3 and RDS.
  • Ability to work with Python scripts.
  • Experience using Git and participating in pull-request-based workflows.
  • Basic familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Kafka event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Kubernetes services such as EKS.
  • Familiarity with AWS EMR, MSK, or other cloud-native services.
  • Knowledge of PySpark for large-scale data processing.
  • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain.js or Vercel AI SDK.
  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector search concepts.
