About the Role
The Web Platform team focuses on improving developer productivity, software quality, reliability, and performance across Airbnb’s TypeScript monorepo. Engineers on this team work on foundational technologies that impact hundreds of developers and millions of users worldwide.
This role offers the opportunity to build developer tools, testing frameworks, CI/CD systems, observability solutions, editor integrations, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve tools that enhance developer experience and engineering productivity.
- Contribute to web platform infrastructure, frameworks, and internal development tooling.
- Improve application performance, debuggability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to understand pain points and implement solutions.
- Build and enhance testing frameworks, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve observability tooling and developer monitoring capabilities.
- Work on IDE integrations, developer environments, and AI-assisted coding experiences.
- Participate in architecture discussions, implementation, testing, and production support.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical design decisions, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with frontend web development.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Interest in using AI development tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience participating in architecture reviews and code reviews.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing VS Code extensions, language servers, or IDE tooling.
- Familiarity with Claude Code skills or MCP servers.
