Role Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer on the K9 Security team, you will lead the development of low-level Linux instrumentation and runtime security capabilities that power Datadog’s security products.

You’ll work on advanced technologies involving Linux kernel internals, eBPF, runtime threat detection, cloud workload protection, and large-scale telemetry systems.

Key Responsibilities

Security Platform Development

  • Design and develop security agent capabilities for threat detection
  • Build runtime protection features for cloud-native workloads
  • Develop reusable monitoring technologies for Linux environments
  • Enhance workload visibility across processes, files, and network activity

Systems Engineering

  • Build eBPF-based instrumentation solutions
  • Work with Linux kernel APIs and low-level system components
  • Develop performance-sensitive software for large-scale environments
  • Improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency

Technical Leadership

  • Lead architecture and design decisions
  • Drive end-to-end feature development and deployment
