Role Overview
As a Staff Software Engineer on the K9 Security team, you will lead the development of low-level Linux instrumentation and runtime security capabilities that power Datadog’s security products.
You’ll work on advanced technologies involving Linux kernel internals, eBPF, runtime threat detection, cloud workload protection, and large-scale telemetry systems.
Key Responsibilities
Security Platform Development
- Design and develop security agent capabilities for threat detection
- Build runtime protection features for cloud-native workloads
- Develop reusable monitoring technologies for Linux environments
- Enhance workload visibility across processes, files, and network activity
Systems Engineering
- Build eBPF-based instrumentation solutions
- Work with Linux kernel APIs and low-level system components
- Develop performance-sensitive software for large-scale environments
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
Technical Leadership
- Lead architecture and design decisions
- Drive end-to-end feature development and deployment
