Umba, a fast-growing, AI-driven digital bank headquartered in Nairobi, is looking for a results-driven Relationship Manager to spearhead their logbook and asset financing portfolio. This is a high-impact role for a proactive strategist ready to drive sales growth, manage high-quality loan portfolios, and build a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership: Formulate and execute aggressive sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual growth targets.
- Portfolio Management: Build and manage a healthy loan book, ensuring full and timely collection of principal, interest, and fees.
- Network Expansion: Identify, recruit, and onboard indirect sales agents to scale Umba’s market presence.
- Team Mentorship: Lead, train, and motivate a team of sales professionals, providing ongoing guidance to enhance their selling skills and service delivery.
- Performance Analysis: Prepare detailed sales budgets, forecasts, and activity reports to guide management decision-making and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Process Excellence: Continuously improve internal Business Development workflows to increase efficiency in logbook and asset financing.
- Client Advocacy: Maintain exceptional customer service standards, ensuring all client concerns are resolved promptly and professionally.
Qualifications & Expertise
- Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in selling logbook or vehicle financing facilities.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Commercial Acumen: Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of integrity and ethical standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with CRM systems and project management tools; ability to analyze sales metrics to drive performance.
- Adaptability: A resilient, self-driven mindset capable of thriving in a rapidly evolving digital banking landscape.
