Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work across product teams to build and improve customer-facing experiences while helping shape engineering practices and mentoring other developers.
This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, collaboration, and ownership of key business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Build Customer-Focused Products
- Develop and improve banking, tax, and expense management features
- Build scalable backend APIs and services
- Create modern frontend experiences using React and TypeScript
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-quality features
- Own projects from planning through deployment and monitoring
Improve Engineering Practices
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
- Establish development standards and best practices
- Improve reliability, performance, and scalability
- Reduce technical debt through practical improvements
- Support long-term platform growth
Mentor and Support Engineers
- Guide engineers through code reviews and technical discussions
- Help shape technical planning and project execution
- Share knowledge and promote engineering excellence
- Support collaboration across teams and functions
Required Qualifications
Successful candidates should have:
- 12+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
- Strong backend development expertise
- Production experience with:
- Ruby on Rails
- React
- TypeScript
- Redux
- Experience with relational databases such as:
- MySQL
- Google Spanner
- Similar enterprise database systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working across multiple teams and projects
- Commitment to code quality and maintainability
